The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of its 6th Annual Fab5 Young Professional Awards on Tuesday, February 9. We are thrilled to announce that INHS Executive Director Johanna Anderson has been chosen as Not-for-Profit Leader of the Year for her remarkable leadership throughout this challenging time.

“Being able to help people find, obtain, and maintain their home – their sense of place – is a privilege that constantly  pushes me to do more and be better. I have never doubted my choice of profession and in fact, my resolve for this work grows deeper each day,” Anderson said of what drives her to continue her work in affordable housing.

She has dedicated her career to helping low-income people find quality, safe housing that fits their needs. She has over 15 years of experience in expanding access to affordable housing, building livable communities, and leading economic development efforts to reach diverse populations throughout the nation.

“Johanna is a caring, flexible and motivating Executive Director. She treats everyone at INHS with respect and dignity no matter what their position. She is a wonderful person to work for and should be commended for her leadership during this very uncertain time,” said Director of Real Estate Development Joe Bowes.

Anderson and the Fab5 winners will be honored during a free virtual celebration on Thursday, March 4 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Click here to view the Fab5 winners and how to register for the event.
