Funds Available to Help Homeowners Develop or Update an ADU
INHS is helping low- and moderate-income homeowners develop an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) or bring an existing ADU up to code. This is a great opportunity for homeowners to generate additional income by creating a rental dwelling on their property.
Who Qualifies?
- Homeowners who need to renovate their existing ADU and/or bring it up to code.
- Homeowners who wish to divide a single-family home to create a small rental unit.
- Households with incomes at or below 100% of the area median income.
- Homeowners whose primary residence would be assisted with grant funds.
- ADUs that will have a year-round tenant, who may also be a family member, and will not be used for short-term or vacation rentals.
- Funds are available to homeowners in Tompkins County.
