The INHS Board of Directors has announced that Patricia Paolangeli will serve as Acting Executive Director of the regional nonprofit  organization effective immediately. Paolangeli, who began working at INHS in 1997, will assume the lead role while continuing her current role as Finance Director.

Patricia Paolangeli

In her 26 years of service to INHS, Paolangeli has worked in property management and finance. In her current role, she manages INHS’s financial position, budgeting, and compliance in all lines of business. She participates in committee and board governance, real estate development acquisitions, sales, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit projects, and continues to build relationships with investors, bankers, and funders. As INHS has grown in size and complexity, so too, has Patty’s knowledge and strategic insights for the organization and its role in the community.

INHS Board President Jeremy Thomas says of their decision, “In her role as finance director, she is acutely aware of the inner workings of every program in each line of business, as well as how they interact and influence each other. The time and care she takes to train each of coworkers demonstrates her embodiment of the core values of INHS. Her willingness to take on additional duties and complete them successfully, is why the Board of Directors is appointing her Acting Executive Director.”

Paolangeli says of her new role, “It’s an honor and a privilege to step into the role of Acting Executive Director for INHS. Over my many years at INHS I have gained significant knowledge and experience in all aspects of the organization. I am confident in my temporary role, and with the support of the Board of Directors and senior management staff, that INHS will continue to fulfill its mission while we search for a permanent replacement. I have, and always will, support INHS’s mission, and am proud to be a part of an organization that promotes affordable housing opportunities to members of the communities we serve.”

A search for a permanent executive director is underway, with a search committee comprised of INHS board members, staff, and community leaders convening regularly to determine the process, while a firm has been hired to assist in the search. More information will be announced soon.

The transition of an executive director comes with the announcement of current Executive Director Johanna Anderson stepping down to assume the role of President of the CNY Market at Tompkins Community Bank. Anderson will continue to hold all executive responsibility and authority until her departure on Friday, June 30.
