Childcare Center Opens at Glen Lake Apartments
Watkins Glen officially has its only child care center thanks to My Place: A Play and Learning Center, who moved into Glen Lake Apartments commercial space and opened their doors on February 17. The center provides affordable, dependable, quality child care (ages 6 weeks to 12 years) that meets the identified community needs for child care, enabling parents to be/remain employed furthering the goal of self-sufficiency and job retention.
Executive Director of My Place: A Play and Learning Center, Kristine Morseman said, “At a time when so many small businesses and non-profits are struggling, we are thrilled to be able to open a new childcare facility. We were very fortunate to be able to be part of this DRI project and align with two great organizations that have missions so similar to ours, to provide the same quality care to children regardless of the family’s financial status.
Holt and Welliver did an amazing job on this build. Our families are loving the bright open spaces. We are very proud to be able to provide such a great childcare center to those who live and work in Schuyler County.”
