Story 10: From Steps to Stability: Bob’s Story

Posted Apr 3, 2026

Though Bob is still active and enjoys the option of taking the stairs up to his front door, he knew he needed a safer, more accessible way to enter his home—especially during harsh weather or on days when mobility felt more challenging.

That’s where INHS stepped in. Through our Minor Repair Program, INHS was able to construct a sturdy ramp alongside Bob’s staircase, giving him an additional—and safer—way to enter and exit his home.

“It’ll help me through all kinds of weather; it’ll make my life a lot easier,” Bob said of the new ramp. “What [INHS] did for me matters a lot.”

For Bob, this new ramp isn’t just a home improvement—it’s peace of mind, independence, and the ability to remain safely in the home he loves.

Tune in next week to our 50 Years, 50 Stories series to learn more about the origin of the Minor Repair Program and how it helps our community!
