Selling Your Home: Where to Start and How to Close

In this session, a local real estate agent will walk us through how the home sales process works and cover topics such as preparing the home, necessary tests and improvements, deciding on a price, finding a realtor, property disclosures, listing the property, contracts and negotiations, and more.

SPECIAL 2026: This class part of a special Post-Purchase Series promotion for 2026 – all post-purchase workshops are $10. Tickets are HALF PRICE for anyone who has completed Home Buyer Education; email hbe@ithacanhs.org to get the discount code.  You do not need to be a customer in our home purchase program to attend — this program is open to all!

Our Post-Purchase classes are hybrid, they take place in person at INHS and are live streamed on Zoom and also recorded. Post-purchase topics include routine maintenance and seasonal tasks, homeowner property tax exemptions, wills and estates, insurance basics, and more.
