Northside Triangle Neighborhood Tour
- This event has passed.
September 14 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
TicketsIthaca’s Northside Triangle neighborhood, bounded by Cascadilla Street to the south, Cascadilla Creek on the east, and Route 13 to the west, was developed in the 1830s after Cascadilla Creek was channelized. The neighborhood drew a mix of white-collar professionals and working class people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, including many new immigrants. The neighborhood today is a varied combination of older frame houses from the nineteenth century, surviving cottages built as workers’ homes, and public housing projects.
Join Historic Ithaca and INHS for a walking tour of the Northside Triangle neighborhood to learn more about its history and community development. The tour will be led by Historic Ithaca Preservation Services Coordinator Christine O’Malley and INHS Development Manager Kayla Wingert.
Meet at the Community Room, 210 Hancock Street Apartments and Townhomes. Entrance is off of First Street. Signs will direct you.
