West End Heights

This new construction project will be located on four parcels of land at the intersection of West Court and North Meadow Streets.

The West End Heights project will consist of a five story building, 60 one bedroom apartments, plus office and service space for residents and clients of Lakeview Health Services, Inc., the project developer.

INHS, a consultant on the project, assisted Lakeview identify the project site and guide the municipal approval process.

All units of this project will be affordable for households with incomes below 60% of the area median; 54 of these will be affordable for households with incomes below 50% of area median income.

LHS is requesting $250,000 of Tompkins County funds to be used for construction. Other financing will be from NYS Homes and Community Renewal, NYS Homeless Housing and Assistance Corporation, and NYS Office of Mental Health. A construction loan will bridge the funding until completion of construction and closing on the permanent financing sources.

Lakeview Health Services, Inc (LHS) is dedicated to helping those it serves identify and achieve personally meaningful life goals and to realize their full potential. They provide safe, affordable housing and support to persons recovering from mental illness and health care coordination services to individuals with chronic mental and physical health challenges.

LHS provides residential services in a six county region serving over 1800 individuals annually. It operates more than 360 beds through varying levels of care including supervised community residences for adults, treatment apartment programs, single room occupancy program and supported housing. In addition, it provides care management services in Ontario and Seneca counties.

Lakeview is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health, the Counties of Ontario, Tompkins, Livingston, Seneca, Wayne and Yates, through client fees and private donations.
