CDBG Funding to Rehab 20 Homes in Tompkins Co

Posted Apr 20, 2024

INHS has been awarded nearly $600,000 from New York State Homes and Community Renewal’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program to make major repairs and rehab to up to twenty households, with up to $24,900 in support per household.

This award will support INHS’s Major Repair Program that provides repairs and rehabilitation services to low- to moderate-income homeowners of any age who live in single family, owner-occupied homes. Manufactured homes are eligible if they are less than 10 years old, on a permanent foundation, and homeowners own their own land. Homeowners must meet income requirements and live in Tompkins County, outside of the City of Ithaca and Town of Dryden. Priority will be given to clients who need septic replacement.

Repairs include: deferred maintenance, health and safety issues, structural defects, and energy conservation. In 2023, INHS provided major repair services to 26 clients, closing nearly $605,000 in loans, in Tompkins County.
