Major Repair Assistance in City of Ithaca
INHS has been awarded $146,250 to make major repairs and rehab to up to six households in the City of Ithaca.
This award will support INHS’s Major Repair Program that provides repairs and rehabilitation services to low- to moderate-income homeowners of any age. Repairs include: deferred maintenance, health and safety issues, structural defects, and energy conservation. Homeowners must meet income requirements and live in the City of Ithaca.

Major Repair Assistance in Dryden
If you own a home in the Town of Dryden and are in need of major repairs, INHS may be able to help!
INHS has funds to support low- to moderate-income homeowners of any age who live in single family, owner-occupied homes. Repairs include, but are not limited to deferred maintenance, health and safety issues, code violations, structural defects, energy upgrades, well and septic systems, replaced roofs, siding and windows, and accessibility modifications.

Manufactured homes are eligible if they are less than 10 years old, on a permanent foundation, and homeowners own their own land. Homeowners must meet income requirements and live in the Town of Dryden. Priority will be given to clients who need septic replacement.
Major Repair Assistance in Schuyler and Tompkins
Accessibility Modification Assistance in Cortland and Tompkins
INHS has been awarded $169,000 to make residential units accessible for low- and moderate-income persons with disabilities in Cortland and Tompkins Counties through the New York State Access to Home program.
This program is designed to provide assistance with the cost of adapting homes to meet the needs of those with disabilities, enabling individuals to continue to safely and comfortably live in their residences and avoid institutional care. The eligible unit must be the primary residence of the person with a disability. Eligible properties can be owner-occupied homes, mobile homes, or rental units.
Allowable modifications include, but are not limited to:
- Wheelchair ramps and lifts, handrails, expanded doorways, and stair glides;
- Roll in showers with grab bars, bathtub grab bars and seats;
- Non-skid flooring;
- Appliances that respond to verbal commands;
- Easy-to-reach work and storage areas and other kitchen modifications;
- Strobe light or vibrator-assisted smoke and burglar alarms;
- Re-locating a bathroom or bedroom to the first floor;
- Generator with back up documentation from a personal physician
