Mission Moment

Evergreen Family

Ari and I are a queer couple and have had to deal with extra legal and financial hurdles over the years. We are freelance creatives. We collaborate with nonprofits, arts organizations, activists, and socially conscious small businesses to bring their visions to life through design, film, and illustration. We use our talents to advance causes we believe in, and we love what we do but we knew we needed support in order to afford a safe, comfortable home to grow our family.

Seven years ago, at the beginning of our homeowner journey, we were referred to INHS’ first-time homebuyer class. There was a huge learning curve to becoming homeowners, but a feeling of trust emerged between our family and INHS.

We continued to find support at every turn when we needed down-payment assistance and again later when we needed low-interest financing for major repairs.
