The USGBC New York Upstate Leadership Awards celebrate excellence from projects, people, and partners that are working to create better buildings and better lives for all in our community. It is important we celebrate our successes as a community. USGBC New York Upstate continues to inspire progress in the sustainable and resilient built environment for the rest of the state. This is thanks to the hard work of our project teams and partners with the initiative and willingness to lead our communities toward a better future for all.
Community Housing Trust Manager Leslie Ackerman, who accepted the award on INHS’s behalf said, “Since 2008, INHS has been building LEED-certified homes, and now we’re achieving Passive House and Net Zero Energy-Ready certification, as well. It’s exciting for us to push ourselves to have a greater impact on the environment and the climate, and it’s a real honor to have our efforts recognized by the USGBC.”
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a global nonprofit organization that has over 190,000 LEED-certificated buildings in nearly 190 countries and more than 200,000 LEED credential holders. The number of projects that have been certified under the LEED rating system demonstrate USGBC’s commitment to transform how buildings and communities are designed, built and operated.
