2,690 People Supported in 2023

Posted Feb 9, 2024

2023 was a year of change at INHS. With former Executive Director Johanna Anderson stepping down in July 2023 and Interim Executive Director Patricia Paolangeli continuing her full-time role as Director of Finance through the rest of the year, INHS didn’t miss a beat. In fact, its staff continued full-steam ahead and was able to help 2,690 people access safe, affordable housing, nearly 1,000 more people served than in 2022.

The completion of Founders Way, construction making headway at Compass, Manufactured Home Community, and expansion of the Minor Repair Program serving two additional counties, plus additional funding streams contributed to its growth in 2023. Additionally, the homeownership department closed over $628,000 in loans, helping 33 people purchase their first home, while providing one-on-one financial counseling to over 260 people and providing home buyer education to 210 households. Stay tuned for more updates on how INHS helped its community in 2023.

Of those helped by the organization, 76% earned less than 50% of the area median income, the middle number of all of the incomes for a given area, calculated annual by the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).

As we look forward in 2024, INHS is more optimistic than ever for even further success and growth with its new Executive Director Kate G. de la Garza at the helm. We look forward to what the year has in store!
