INHS Receives $1 Million to Expand Homeownership Programs

INHS was recently awarded two HOME Local grants through NYS Homes and Community Renewal, totaling $988,500. These funds will allow INHS to expand its homeownership program by 34 households throughout Schuyler, Seneca, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties.

The program will provide down payment and closing cost assistance to low- and moderate-income homeowners. In 2018, 77 households received down-payment assistance or closing cost loans through INHS within its service area, which includes Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Schuyler, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins Counties.
