Cayuga Flats Construction Progression

Posted Jun 10, 2020

The construction of affordable housing was deemed essential by the government during the NY on PAUSE order, allowing INHS projects to continue, including Cayuga Flats. The project began construction in December 2019 and is on track to be completed fully in February 2021.

Cayuga Flats is a $9.2 million mixed-use, rehab and new construction project of INHS’ Scattered Site portfolio in the City of Ithaca. In 2018, INHS completed phase 1 of the project which included renovations of 98 units. Phase two, Cayuga Flats, includes the rehab or new construction of the remaining 29 efficiency, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and two commercial spaces.

As of May 2020, two buildings in the portfolio (111 W. Clinton and 227 S. Geneva) are complete and are now re-occupied by tenants. Renovations have started at 406 S. Plain and 502 W. State St., with a completion date of November 2020. The new apartment building at 209 Elm St. is still under construction, with a completion date of February 2021.

Renovations and upgrades will include new roofs, heating systems, siding, flooring, kitchens, baths, landscaping, energy efficiency upgrades, and more. Check out photos of the completed renovated units.
