Step 1: Become an educated home buyer

Buying a home is complicated. We make it easy.

Get educated with an INHS home buyer course - either "Live" or "Online." An educated home buyer makes you an informed consumer. Both our courses offer the most complete homebuyer course available in this area and a certificate at completion.

Homebuyer Ed "Live" offers a local perspective:

  • Learn all the steps in the home buying process
  • Gain access to local professionals—lenders, realtors, inspectors, and attorneys
  • Receive a manual packed with resources
  • Get free one-on-one counseling

Feel confident and capable once you:

  • Receive your free credit report and score
  • Learn about finding and paying for your new home
  • Discover loan and grant programs available to you as a first time buyer
  • Follow a home inspector through a house
  • Understand what you’re signing at closing
  • Receive a personal counseling session

Home buyer classes meet once a week from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for 6 weeks. Attend with your partner or spouse for one fee. Classes are offered on a sliding fee scale starting at $20. Classes fill quickly and pre-registration is required.

Home Buyer Ed “Online!” allows more flexibility:

Through eHomeAmerica, study online and yet cover ALL the basics. You have the added convenience of studying at your own pace, time, and place. Why wait? You can start today! Simply register online at eHome America for only $49.
